About holds and requests

Through the library catalog you can request an item be held for you.

Why request an item

Instructions

  1. Find the item in the library catalog.
  2. Click on the REQUEST button at the top left of the screen.
  3. Answer the prompts. (Provide your last name and barcode).
  4. Provide article information when requesting an article.
  5. Choose a pickup location. It can be the 'Stritch lib hold shelf' or any other library closer to you. You can only choose 'Stritch off campus delivery' if you are an off-campus student.
  6. Click submit.
  7. Select an available item.
  8. Click 'request selected item'.
  9. Items are usually delivered to a SWITCH library within 2 days. For books, videos, etc. (but not articles), you will receive a notice in your CSU email when it arrives at a SWITCH library.
    Items mailed to your home are at the mercy of the postal system.
