Overdue fines
Overdue notices are a courtesy. Patrons are not exempt from fines should a notice not be received.
- Overdue notices are emailed to your university email account the day after an item is due.
- Overdue charges become effective on the 10th day an item is overdue. The charge is $1 per day/per item on non-reserve items. The maximum fine is $10.
- Items on hourly or overnight reserve have a fine of $1.00 per hour.
- Items on 3-7 day reserve have a fine of $1.00 per day.
- A block will be placed on a student's record if s/he has not returned items to the library or owes more than $10 in overdue fines or other charges. A block prevents a student from registering for classes, receiving a transcript, or getting a diploma. The block remains until the student's record is cleared.
- Items overdue more than ten days incur a replacement charge.
Replacement charges
- Replacement charges for books are $50 per item plus a $10 processing fee per item.
- Books found in good condition within six months may be returned for a refund. The $50 replacement charge will be returned. The $10 processing fee will not be returned.
- Damaged books have a replacement charge of $50 per item and a $10 processing fee.
- Charges for other items such as laptops and audiovisual items vary.
