Requesting Books

Books in the Library

Most books and other materials in TOPCAT, the library’s catalog, can be mailed to your home address at no additional charge.

E-books

The library offers thousands of electronic books that can be accessed entirely online. For more information, see the eBooks page.

Books Not in TOPCAT

Books that are not available in TOPCAT or the library’s e-book collections can be requested through ILLiad interlibrary loan.

When creating an ILLiad account, choose Mail to Address for the Preferred Book Delivery Method to have books sent to your home address. You are responsible for returning items to the library (in person or by mail).

Finding Articles

You have access to scholarly journal articles and abstracts through various databases. See the Articles & Databases page.

"What if I can’t find the full-text of an article?"

Look up the journal title in TOPCAT. If the journal is there with date ranges matching the article you are looking for, you can request the article through TOPCAT. Be sure to include the article’s citation information, including the author, article title, volume, date, and page numbers.

If the journal is not in TOPCAT, you can submit a request for the article through ILLiad interlibrary loan. When creating an ILLiad account, choose Mail to Address for the Preferred Article Delivery Method to have articles delivered to you electronically.
